Cinnamon rolls in Berlin

Cinnamon roll from Zeit für Brot

Cinnamon rolls or Kanellbullar are classic Swedish pastries (that make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside). Having them teleported from Sweden could be an option if teleportation existed, but enjoying fine cinnamon rolls outside of Scandinavia is luckily a more realistic option.

The German equivalent of a cinnamon roll is a Zimt Schnecke, which literally translates as ‘cinnamon snail’ due to the shape of this little creature’s shell. A bakery and coffee-bar that produces lovely, soft and sweet Zimt Schnecken in Berlin is Zeit für Brot. Other than the classic cinnamon roll in the picture they also offer rolls with white chocolate and cherries (weiße schokolade-kirsch), hazelnut paste or maple syrup and walnuts. If you have a craving for chocolate they’ve got you covered with a generous brownie-slice.
Zeit für Brot’s latte’s are generous as well. Fancy a cold drink to go with your Zimt Schnecke? Orange juice, grape juice or sparkling water will relieve you of that thirsty feeling.

Zeit für Brot – Konstanzer Str. 1, 10707 Berlin ( U bahn Konstanzer Str. or Bhf Adenauerplatz). *This bakery also has a shop in Kreuzberg (Berlin) plus in Hamburg and Frankfurt.
